Name: Sean Phillips

Facebook: Sean Phillips

Born: Lake George, New York

Started my sport: I was 3 years old when I started skiing. My father worked for the Killington Ski Race Team and taught my brothers and I how to ski.

Superhero: I would want to be Frozone from the Incredibles and be able to make Ice/Snow anytime I wanted. Plus, Frozone was just a funny and awesome character.

My favorite place in the world: My favorite place in the world would probably be my hometown of Lake George, New York. With being right in the Adirondacks, I have access to hundreds of Hiking opportunities in the summer. When the weather is warmer, I go out on the water and the lake sports 360 degrees views of beautiful mountains. The town is constantly busy and a great place for shopping, entertainment, and great food. Also, with its convenient location, Lake George is near larger cities such as Saratoga Springs, New York that has wonderful activities to do as well. In the winter, Lake George has tons of fun activities from Vehicle races on the frozen water, to pond skimming contests, and a winter carnival that features an entire bar made of ice. Lake George is also within 2.5 hours of over 10 different ski resorts making it a convenient location for avid skiers and boarders.

My perfect day: My perfect day is in the middle of winter, waking up and packing my ski stuff into my Jeep Wrangler and heading to the ski mountain. The perfect day would be shredding through glades and backcountry trails, finding the deepest and steepest lines.

Accomplishment: My most proud accomplishment has been balancing my education and my passion for the outdoors. My school is about 5-8 hours from ski mountains in Vermont and the Adirondacks, but I have been able to work hard and make time to #followmypassion and ski as much as possible while doing well in school.

Top 5 spots: My top 5 spots to ski are:

What does it mean to follow my passion and find where I belong: To me, follow your passion means making time for the things that you love. No matter what is in your way, you find the time and energy to make it happen. Too many people say they don't have time or it's too far. Nothing is out of reach if you want it bad enough. Everyone should have a happy place. Somewhere where they feel at peace. That place is their spot to disconnect from the world and be truly one with themselves. For me, that is in the woods skiing. When I’m high up on a mountain and I look around and all I see if 2 feet of snow and trees. When all I hear is the wind whistling through the pines. When I finally can stand there and know I’m alone in nature. That is when I know I have found where I belong.
